Specialty Camps at the JKR Branch

Your child won’t want to miss out on the fun with our new and exciting half day camps at the JKR Branch! 

 

Gymnastics *(grades 2 - 6) July 9 – 13  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This camp will be a fun-filled week of instruction of gymnastics for all levels.  Learn cartwheels, backbends and more.  Campers will have instructions rotations on Bars, Beam, Floor, Vault and Trampoline.  On Friday, campers will perform for family and friends.  Other activities may include games, outdoor play and crafts.

 

Mangia! Italian Cooking* (grades 2 - 6)  July 23 – 27  1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Learn some wonderful Italian dishes you can make for dinner all by yourself. This week encompasses some Italian basics like homemade tomato sauce, ravioli, pasta, pizza, desserts and more. You’ll learn how a recipe is written and go home with food and a cookbook. Bring an apron, a dishtowel, and five plastic food containers to class.

 

Craft & Cooking*(grades 2 - 6)  August 6 – 10  1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

During craft portion of camp we will make designer craft projects that are useful and fun. Examples are: flip flops, jewelry box and even an apron to wear while cooking.  During the cooking portion of camp we will make fun, healthy lunches, snacks, and even desserts. 

 

Cookies, Cakes and Cupcake Creations*(grades 2 - 6)

August 20 – 24 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Have fun while learning the basics of cookie, cake and cupcake baking while creating traditional as well as unusual desserts such as carrot cake cupcakes, red velvet cake, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies and more. Practice measuring, estimating, and discover what ingredients make them so special. Everyone will bring home samples and a recipe book of their daily creations. Bring an apron and dishtowel, and five plastic food containers.

 

XRKade Camp** (ages 9 – 12)

July 16 – 20, July 23 – July 27 and July 30 – August 1  9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Pre-teens will spend this exciting week participating in games, activities and challenges in our youth interactive center that house 24 active video gaming stations.  Som of the XRKade activities will include our x-treme strategy games, 30 minute 3-kick work our, and even a triathlon on our active video gaming stations.  Along with having the opportunity to swim each day, campers will also play traditional camp games in the gym and outside.

Your preschooler can leap into summer fun at Creative Beginnings in our Leap Frog Camp!

A perfect balance of indoor and outdoor activities are planned for your preschooler in this theme-based, hands-on summer camp for ages 3 - 5. Contact Rose Elefant at ext. 126 or relefant@hamiltonymca.org for additional information.  The Leap Frog Summer Camp includes story time, group games, music, art, snack, outdoor play, and indoor swim time.
